The lecture phase is three months of encountering Jesus through worship, prayer, service, practical discipleship and personal application of truth. Each week we'll focus on a different topic that is relevant to living out our faith in this generation and that will equip us in our pursuit of God. The lecture phase will have an extra focus on the key elements of faith and will explore how faith unlocks the power of God in every aspect of our lives. Come ready to be inspired in your pursuit of God and equipped to be a part of the greatest move of God the world has ever seen.
The Humility and Hunger DTS is for those who want to bring pleasure to the heart of God through a consecrated life, genuine intimacy and radical obedience to His Call.
I can only imagine that one of the most transformational elements for the 12 disciples was simply being with Jesus. The Humility and Hunger Discipleship Training School is built around a community that is focused on Jesus. Throughout the lecture phase, we will focus on being a disciple. Disciples are not "made" through structures, programs, and sermons but the truth is that disciples make disciples. Those who live a consecrated life inspire others to do the same. Being a part of an authentic Jesus-centred community will be a significant part of your DTS lecture phase.
The lecture phase is made up of 12 weeks. Each week we look at a new topic and each week we have a new speaker. Our teachers come from all over the world. They are not only well versed in Biblical truth but have a passion for seeing the nations reached with the gospel. Each of our teachers has experienced God transform their lives. They are not just teaching theory but powerful truths that have deeply impacted their lives. The anointed teaching combined with practical application is absolutely life changing!
The heartbeat of the Humility and Hunger DTS is found in Jesus's response to the teachers of the law in Matthew 12. He highlights characteristics that the men of Ninevah and the Queen of the South had; ones that would be life-changing if the teachers of the law had them in their lives. Those characteristics were humility and hunger. Humility and hunger are keys to encountering God and seeing His power unlocked through our lives. Throughout the lecture phase, we will discover with others what it means to live a faith-filled life.
On outreach, you will encounter God's power working through you to transform the lives of those around you. You will have the opportunity to participate in prayer, personal witnessing, street evangelism, caring for the poor and many other initiatives that are relevant to the country you go to. The training you have received during the lecture phase will be so relevant as you reach out and see people's lives transformed. You will see God working not only in the classroom but also in the nations.
All around the world, there are people that have never had the opportunity to experience the LOVE of God. Our call as a DTS is to go and demonstrate God's love to the marginalised, disadvantaged and forgotten individuals; people that God has never forgotten and who He wants to demonstrate His love to.
In every city, town and community around the world there are people who are spiritually lost. They outwardly look like they have direction and purpose but spiritually they lack direction and struggle to find purpose. As we step out during outreach, God will use us to help many people find what they so desperately need; an encounter with Jesus!
All through the world, there are individuals and groups of people that have never had the opportunity to hear a clear presentation of the gospel that they can understand. God is calling us to go to these individuals and people groups with a clear and loving presentation of the gospel. During outreach, many of our teams will have the opportunity to be a part of efforts to share with unreached people groups.
