The School of Journalism Online trains godly communicators with the skills of journalism to engage readers with God’s truth.
You will grow in your knowledge of God’s desire for journalism, focussing on the character of a godly writer, identity and Biblical worldview, to create a foundation for learning the different skills of journalism. Each week examines topics such as: God the creator, interviewing, ethics, creative nonfiction writing, reporting, platforms of communication and media.
You will practise different aspects of journalism, from research, to interviewing, to writing feature pieces, while exploring different forms of media that can be used to creatively reach different audiences. Our ultimate aim is to use journalism to make God known in the nations!
This course includes approximately 12 to 14 hours of teaching per week, plus further time for homework, projects and small group meetings. This course earns you 12 credits with the University of the Nations.

ONLINE EXTENSION STUDIES
Can’t do the full three months? Or haven’t completed a DTS yet? We are offering parallel extension studies alongside of our School of Journalism Online. You’ll get access to the same great teaching as the full course, as well as opportunities for further learning. These one-month modules can be undertaken individually or in sequence.
Each module includes a total of at least 50 hours of learning. You can earn two Online Extension Study Credits (OES credits) with the University of the Nations per completed module.
Module A - Foundations in Journalism: January 11 - February 5, 2021
Module B - Reporting and Writing Essentials: February 8 - March 5, 2021
Module C - Reaching the Nations with Journalism: March 8 - April 2, 2021
Cost: AUD $400 per module, includes AUD $30 Registration Fee + $100 Deposit
Prerequisites: No prerequisites required to undertake these modules.
