This is a fast-track leadership seminar designed to equip and mentor you to take the next step in developing the vision God has spoken to you. We look at key themes of YWAM, our history as a mission and lessons learned. We also dissect, discuss and receive valuable training in the area of understanding spheres of society, project development and team formation. Teachings cover the two Great Commissions of Matthew and Mark, along with an understanding of the covenants of God with His people, His leaders and the church.

The LAPS offers you the unique opportunity for teaching and mentoring by seasoned YWAM leaders with over 40 years of experience in the mission, along with personal input from giants of the faith. This course is led by Peter Brownhill, the founder, with his wife Shirley, of YWAM Perth. Input from those who have gone before, who have pioneered, established and seen growth, fruit and breakthrough is one of the outstanding features of this school

Coming with a vision in mind, you receive input, not only in making vision a reality, but in how to design a five year plan, creating and charting key markers and points of growth.  Through interactive discussion and input, you are able to put together achievable and faith-filled goals. In order to help achieve all of this, you also receive vital teaching on the forming and calling of a team.

Teaching on the spiritual disciplines of a leader brings greater insight into leadership as well. With interactive time given to processing questions and ideas, you are encouraged and mentored in the character and conduct of a leader. The spheres of society will also be examined through Biblical exploration and expert teaching.

Upon the completion of the seminar, internships are available specifically tailored to help you in the development of your project. This is an opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job experience with an established ministry in a field related to the vision you aim to pioneer. This provides further access to key eldership and mentoring. You can glean from the wealth of experience of those who have pioneered before, and gain from their successes and their failures. The ministry experiences of those who have gone before us are some of the most valuable assets a new pioneer can have.

Another advantage of serving with an established ministry for a season is the opportunity to connect with others who have a similar focus. God never calls us to do it all alone as pioneers. He always provides relational support for the endeavours He calls us to. As you gain experience in established ministry, you have the opportunity to be coached through handling real-life situations and challenges on a regular basis. Through this, you will discover first-hand how pioneering involves strategic prayer and the need to hear God’s voice for creative solutions. We are convinced that innovative leaders are made where integrity and devotion meet the Great Commission!
