Frontline DTS (Adventure Stream)

NOTE: This stream runs as part of the Frontline DTS together with the Trailblazers and Urban Creative streams. We will have lectures with all three streams combined, and then split up for individual focus times in each area.
God is a God who goes the distance to reach those He loves - and He invites us into that challenge. As the Frontline DTS we blaze trails to take the gospel to the hard to reach places. And the Adventure stream means we’ll do what it takes - hiking tough trails, 4WD’s through rugged terrain - to see that happen.
We launch out with 12 weeks of focused discipleship and preparation in YWAM Perth’s urban missions community. We pursue God together, tackling topics such as surrendering to His Lordship, hearing His voice, and taking the gospel public. Discipleship happens in the classroom, in the streets, in small group discussion, hands-on serving and more. Our Adventure stream also includes two weeks of camping and a week of hiking with lectures around the firepit or under the tent shade. Best classroom ever!
As we’ve grown in knowing Him, God takes our love of adventure and uses us to share His transforming truth in places that haven’t heard yet. As the Frontline DTS, we focus especially on the places that are hard to reach. Jesus taught about the shepherd who left the 99 sheep to look for the 1 that was lost. We carry that same spirit- we’ll do what it takes to get to the lost and least. We’ll share the gospel, meet needs and be a voice of encouragement and empowerment to those we serve in the nations.
We’ll then come back to Perth for a wrap-up week, equipped to continue this lifelong adventure of following Jesus wherever He may lead us next.

We were on outreach high up in the mountains. Our team was staying in a church and an older man was living across the street from us. He saw us when we would go out every day to do ministry in the surrounding areas. He wasn’t able to walk almost at all. Through our translator, he asked if I could pray for him. I said yes, sure we would love to. He shared that he had some form of arthritis or bone sickness in his knees. I could see that he couldn’t really move much. As we prayed for him, he said to our translator that he felt something in his knees. We prayed a second time and he said “Yes, I can feel something warm in my knees.” He then ran up and down the street! I had never seen a miracle like that before! It was really crazy to see an instant healing in such a practical way.
