Horizons have Broadened – Leadership and Pioneering School

A LAPS graduate’s story.

I have been serving as a team leader in a frontier location for five years and have had the opportunity to travel to many locations and be involved with helping lead various schools and ministries. Looking back now though, much of that time feels like a ship that was seeking to venture out, but never strayed too far from the shore.

this school is not about knowledge, but about allowing God to open your eyes to whole new realms of what it means to be a child of his kingdom

For me, taking part in the LAPS was a time when God took opportunity to lead me out into deeper waters. Something died within me, but that death led to the realisation of an utterly new life. Horizons have broadened, I have been able to realise more truly the great vision Christ has personally given me the privilege of being a part of, and I have found the release to live a life which is larger, more dangerous, more real.

I would not say I found my time during the LAPS easy, but I would also not trade it for anything. There are storms out in the deep, and great waves – but that adventure with God is abundantly worth it, and he has more blessing for us than we could even begin to imagine. I believe this school is not about knowledge, but about allowing God to open your eyes to whole new realms of what it means to be a child of his kingdom, and the privilege of leading others in all that he has for us.
