The DBS is an intensive 12-week study of the Bible, which is designed specifically for students who enjoy learning through group discussion and activities. You will study alongside Bible scholars; read, hear and discuss the entire Bible using the SourceView format in mentored small groups; observe the chronology of biblical events; understand each book in its historical context; understand the harmony between the books; recognise the different genres of literature; and know each book's main idea and purpose. You will learn the foundational truths of Christianity by going directly to the source, equipping you to share your faith more confidently with those who are seeking (evangelism) and to explain the Word of God more accurately to those who have already come to faith (discipleship). An outreach to Nepal will be offered, which will enable students to share what they have learned in lecture phase and Make God Known in the Himalayas!
Learn alongside biblical scholars and international teachers. Engage with the Bible while investigating a variety of topics illuminated in the scriptures, by building godly character and developing a lifelong hunger and love for His Word. Be equipped to disciple others in spirit and truth and to transform nations.
Meet in the afternoons to read and hear the Bible together in mentored small groups. Then, share different revelations and points of view with your classmates as school staff leads a discussion about the topics presented in class lectures that morning. The Bible will become your lifelong companion.
The intensive learning combined with living in community with God's family makes for a transformational experience. Romans 12:4-6, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
Nepal is a Hindu-majority nation famous for its high Himalayan peaks, but now, its tiny Christian population is reaching new heights. The country has one of the fastest-growing Christian communities in the world, tripling to more than 300,000 in the past 10 years. Those numbers are continuing to climb. After lecture phase, DBS will spend three months in Nepal where God will provide incredible opportunities to preach and teach in churches and Bible schools, minister to street kids and slum kids, distribute Bibles and pray for people. We want to see God glorified in Nepal by showing the love of Jesus and discipling new Christian leaders!
