Faith like a Mustard Seed
“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendour.” This verse from Isaiah 61:3 illustrates the vision for the Compassion Discipleship Traininig School (DTS) 2015. If you continue reading and studying verses four and five, you can grasp a greater understanding behind the meaning of verse three.
The students of the Compassion DTS are growing and maturing in their relationships with the Lord as they seek Him and as they wait for His voice to speak to them. An exciting thing about having a relationship with Christ is that it does not matter where you are in your walk – God can still build His kingdom through you.
Jesus speaks of a mustard seed in Luke 13, stating, “What is the kingdom of God like?… It is like a mustard seed that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree, and the birds make nests in its branches (Luke 13:18b-19).” Have you ever seen a mustard seed before? If not it is quite small. In fact, “it is the smallest of all seeds (Mark 4:31b).”
You may wonder what a mustard seed has to do with a relationship with Christ as well as growing in Him. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘move from here to there’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
God can use anyone for His kingdom as long as they have even the smallest amount of faith. He can move in your life, and completely change it, in ways you have never before seen. He loves us and wants us to grow in Him. The question is: are you willing to allow God to have complete control over your entire life, as well as have faith in Him, in order to grow and move mountains for His kingdom?
