School of Worship - YWAM Perth Australia

School of Worship

Starts Every: July

Do you long to see every nation, tribe, and language worship the Lord? In the School of Worship, we explore what it means to have a culture of worship as the Body of Christ, in Australia and the nations. As in Revelation 7:9, our desire is to see every tribe and tongue worshiping the Lord in Spirit and Truth.

We start with a three-month lecture phase with different topics every week. You will receive teaching that will help you develop your character as a worshiper, grow in biblical understanding of worship, and explore creativity and intimacy with the Lord. The SOW focuses on the “heart, mind, and hands” to grow us as worshipers.

Heart / Character

The foundation of any worship ministry is a life wholly dedicated to a deeper relationship with God. You will be equipped for a daily walk with God that brings greater freedom and openness. We seek to be those worshipers of John 4:23 whose lives reflect honesty and integrity in daily life and ministry. Topics in this focus include knowing God in worship, the character of the worshiper and the work of the Holy Spirit in worship.

Head / Knowledge

Biblical principles regarding aspects of worship help you gain valuable understanding for a strong foundation in ministry. Special emphasis is placed on collaboration in worship and prayer, along with the guidance and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Projects such as study of the Book of Psalms help you grow, as you explore the power of lyrics and express your heart to God. Topics in this focus include the Biblical and historic basis of worship, worship’s role in prayer and breakthrough, and worship leadership and teamwork.

Hands / Skills

On the SOW, you will have opportunity to develop creativity and musical skills, especially in songwriting and music theory, unlocking and releasing talents that God may use for His glory. An important part of the school is gaining understanding and skills in cross- cultural expressions of worship as preparation for ministry in other nations and cultures. Topics in this focus include creativity and musicianship, and worship in mission and evangelism.

After our lecture phase in Perth, we head out for 11 weeks of outreach. The SOW brings worship where there is spiritual darkness, promoting change through worship and intercession, and sharing God’s message with those who do not know Him. Our approach is multiplication and service, which helps equip other believers and strengthens churches wherever we serve, transforming lives and proclaiming God’s glory. You’ll put into practice what you learned in lecture phase as you and your team engage in Spirit-led worship ministry in the nations. You’ll wrap up your SOW with a week back in Perth, reflecting on and celebrating all God has done, and getting ready to launch into what He has next for you.
