The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a six-month school that is the entry point into Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The core of the DTS is to know God and make Him known. Just like with all of YWAM’s training, the DTS is all about personal application. We aren’t just amassing knowledge – we are discovering how truth affects the way that we live our lives, and we are finding our part in the Great Commission.

The DTS starts with a 12 week lecture phase. Each week, local and international speakers talk about topics such as the nature and character of God, intercession, hearing God’s voice, repentance and forgiveness, relationships, missions and more. On top of that, we have regular times of worship and prayer, small group discussion, one-on-one discipleship, hands-on serving, weekly outreach into the city, and lots of fun community life! In the midst of it all, we are seeking God together to find out how to live out the truths we are learning.

After that, we head off to a 12-week international outreach. Imagine using your gifts and passions to share God’s love with people all over the world. The DTS outreach teams go and find the lost wherever they are, and then preach the love of God in whatever way we can: sports, drama, music, practical service, praying for needs, media, healthcare – we do it all. It’s all about bringing the love of Christ to people through our lives and through the gifts that God’s given us.

Which DTS is right for you? Check out the list here for all the options that are available in YWAM Perth. DTS runs in Perth all year around. Some are general for anyone and everyone, while others are built around specific age groups or areas of passion that God wants to use to bring His glory to the world.

Because that’s what it’s all about, after all: seeing God glorified in the nations. What does God want to do through your talents and your abilities? What does He want to do through your life? Come and find out, and join the adventure!
