YWAM Perth outreach team accidentally brings together five rival London gangs.

Have you ever wondered how sports can bring God's kingdom on earth?

Recently, one of YWAM Perth's outreach teams in London started working with a Christian woman who runs a sports program at one of the local basketball courts. The team started playing basketball and inviting young people walking by to join in. By the second time the team came, they had gathered quite a few teenagers, all of whom were engaged by the game and enjoyed playing with the team.

Afterward, the woman pulled the team together and asked, "Do you realise what just happened?" They didn't. She started to explain that the kids that they'd been playing with were from five different gangs. Five gangs playing on one court. She had been praying for years these gangs would somehow come together, but it had never happened until that day! Without knowing it, the team had been agents for an incredibly significant breakthrough in this neighbourhood – simply by playing sports.

From my experience, I can say without a doubt that God loves sport. He uses in a unique way to break down boundaries, bring unity, build relationship, and usher in His kingdom. And he's built that love into many of us!
