INTERVIEW WITH FORMER SPORTS DTS STUDENT

Mallory, from Oct. Sports DTS, shares her experience.

Mallory did her Sports Discipleship Training School (DTS) in October of 2011. One of our school leaders sat down to hear her thoughts on her experience.

What were you doing before DTS?

I had graduated high school and was working part-time as a waitress.


Why did you come to DTS? And why Sports DTS?

I felt God telling me to do mission work. At first, I did not know what that specifically meant. However, once I pursued and prayed into it, God took care of every detail. I chose Sports because I've played sports all my life. I love being active, and I'm a huge fan of good competition!

Which lecture week was most impacting and why?

Character and Nature of God week stands out to me the most, because God really showed me who He was and His heart for each one of us. I developed a clearer understanding of who my Father says He is.


What was a highlight on outreach?

One highlight from outreach was the opportunity God gave our team to worship with thousands of other believers in the Philippines. I'd dreamed of, but never thought, I'd be standing on a stage, leading that many in worship. He taught me over those weeks that everything we do and everything we are is all for Him. All for Him.


How did God change your life?

God helped me to develop a new foundation of my faith. I viewed Him in a new way, knowing Him as a true Father to me. He also challenged me which made my faith stronger and led me to incredible brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the world. I will never forget the fun times and amazing friendships.


What else do you want to say? Comment? Advice?

Make the most of it! Pour into friendships, do something crazy, and jump at every opportunity God puts in your path. Remember God is who He says He is. He never changes and His love for you is stronger than you could ever imagine! I can't thank God enough for this unforgettable six months of my life.
