ABOUT

YWAM Perth Sports Ministry


PURPOSE
-To see the Kingdom of God come throughout the regions of Asia, the Middle East and Australia
-To share the love of Christ
-To bring identity, confidence, healing and value through health/fitness/sport
-To use skill and certifications to get into communities in nations where we otherwise might not be accepted
-To bring awareness about missions to the local church and mobilize short term and long term teams


VISION
-To use sports to reach the unreached for Christ through camps, coaching, seminars
-Teach health and fitness to missionaries/workers and to the lost to improve quality of life
-To see facilities made where the locals could have a safe community hang out where they can play various sports, learn about health and fitness and provide a place available for ‘church’ where people can gather to hear and learn about Jesus and grow in their relationship with God
oAlso bring in different types of community development teams, English teaching etc
-To see long term works established in places throughout the Middle East, Central Asia (and wherever else God says)
-To help support existing ministries


MISSION
-use Sports DTS teams to go in for scouting and short term projects and mobilize some into a long term work
-possible partner with a SOFM type school to get a sports ministry ‘track’ to build long term ‘church planting’ teams
-bring in qualified professionals in physical fitness and health
-expose youth by taking sports teams to compete against local teams, to hold sports camps for kids, youth and adults and into orphanages, help with building projects
-ask churches/teams/schools from various countries throughout the world to sponsor a building project and/or orphanage project
