Life in SOMM 2012 and why Jesus is so cool

I am really not certain it is possible to put into words how incredible lecture phase has been for our school. I know it's cliche, but it's true. God has used us to be united and rooted in Him through lectures, small groups, bible meditations, band practice, and dance parties (yes, Jesus REALLY likes to dance). He's totally using our music as a way to unite us together. We are such a unique and strange group of people, and God has been using us in the coolest ways. I would try to give examples, but I will just end up rambling. Basically my point is, our school is the best!

For me, Heart Purity week with Chris Adams was probably the craziest most revelation-filled week of my life. Jesus used Chris to drop a bomb of revelation on us during lecture time. He revealed the importance of Jesus Christ and the cross in a new way. It's not just a story. It's the most beautiful and pure act of love. Jesus, who was and is worthy of everything, humbled himself to nothingness just for us. And He not only sacrificed Himself for my sake, but He gave me access to the Trinity and eternity in Heaven. WHAT-EVER! He is so cool.

Anyway, I could talk for days about the revelations that came just in that day, but I will hold off for now. The other thing I loved, was the work God did in our hearts that day. It was a major tearfest and God really dug deep in our hearts and took care of a lot of pain, pride, selfishness, fear, mistrust, etc. And He used that moment of brokenness for us to come together as a team and bond in a new way. IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!

Now I am already written way more then I intended. Here's my point in short version:
1. Jesus is awesome.
2. SOMM 2012 is full of incredible people, basically the best.
3. If you're thinking about doing a SOMM, do it.
4. If you're not thinking about doing a SOMM, start thinking about it...then re read point number three.
5. Oh yeah, WE LEAVE FOR LONDON IN A COUPLE WEEKS!
