THE SFM STARTING STRONG

Five speakers, one student, an infinite God.
Two weeks into SFM 2012, God has been giving us some excellent training and foundations for a call to media and missions.
We’ve looked at God’s heart to restore relationship with all people and all nations to himself, and we’ve thought through the Great Commission from a communication perspective. We’ve explored strategic thinking, and the importance of setting the right goals. And we’ve talked about a godly creative process, including the central role of listening to God, working hard, and being in unity.
Lately, we’ve spent a few days having a lot of fun developing skills in video production and studying various techniques and how they influence the story we are telling. Creativity has been abounding in our classroom!
And we’ve looked at the nature and character of God, where we caught a glimpse of the one who has put this school together. We saw that in all that God does, though he operates in tremendous strength and power, he is based in love. And that includes the way that he communicates.
All in all, there’s been a lot of variety, but it’s all for the common purpose of discovering how God wants to lead us in serving him in the nations with media. We’re excited to follow him through the rest of our lecture phase and into an outreach to the unreached!
