FREE TEA AND COFFEE

By Misha Del Favero

18/1/2012

After the church service, we went to a nearby park, where AES did live art, and we joined with some church members to hand out free tea and coffee to passers-by. Soon, I saw a grey-haired lady pushing a toddler in a stroller towards us. I met her and invited her for some free tea and coffee. In her Scottish accent, she began to share with us some of her health problems, and we prayed for her and for little Isaac, who might have a tumor (They're waiting for the results from the hospital). After the prayer, she opened up and began to share more with us. Suddenly, the lady, Agnes, looked at us and confessed she was afraid of death and dying. "Are you?" she asked us. This opened up a perfect opportunity, and we both shared with her how neither of us like the thought of death - it sounded unpleasant and uncomfortable to us as to anyone - but we were not afraid of dying because we looked forward to what lies ahead - Heaven and being with Jesus. Finally, I asked her, "Would you like to be absolutely sure that you are going to Heaven?" She thought for a moment, and then said, "Yes. Yes, I would like that." I led her in a prayer, thanking Jesus for what He'd done, asking Him to forgive her sins, asking Him into her heart, and committing her life to Him. She followed after me, word for word. Looking around, I saw one member from the church still around. Calling Ben over, I introduced him to Agnes, and they exchanged contact numbers. He arranged to call her on Saturday to check if she can come to church on Sunday.
