TRUE LOVE

Finding the Real Thing in Switzerland
The first week we were in Switzerland was possibly the hardest week for me. The language barrier was an issue and people that could speak English didn’t want to speak to us. So we asked God for strategies and ways we could approach people and break the barriers. The one thing we have noticed a lot among the youth was an issue of immorality. God gave us this idea to make up a questionnaire about love, sex and marriage.
People responded well to this questionnaire and it opened the door for us to tell about the greatest lover ever, Jesus. People got to hear for the first time that they were created to be loved, to be in a relationship with the Living God and it surprised them.
We met a Christian couple who were struggling at times in their walk with God and we were able to edify and encourage them. The man commented to me that he liked the way that we were trying to reach people, that it wasn’t aggressive but it was a loving approach and very relational. Other couples got to hear what real love was and they couldn’t deny the truth when we told them.
A lot of people thought that real love was sex, and we told them that real love was patient and kind and didn’t demand its own way, and that real love could wait. We saw God move and He opened up conversations that allowed for us to share His truth.
