WALKING THROUGH THE CITY
By Kayla
August 2010
We go out on the streets of the city on a regular basis - just to meet, listen, talk with and encourage women we get connected with.
This particular day......
we felt like God wants to bring Peace; we also got the Scripture
Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake…
We had the opportunity to talk with a few girls; one of the girls I was able to talk to was epileptic. She told me of the dreams she had to travel, but didn’t believe it was possible. Just a sense of hopelessness for her future came as she expressed what was on her heart.
It was great being able to talk with her because I knew God has such a heart for her. She really needed hope and comfort not just reassuring words. The Truth of what God thinks of her. The questions kept coming, mostly about relationships.
It was sad that like many girls she struggled with placing her value in being in a relationship. God brought such a peace to her as we continued to talk. She walked away with smiles encouraged.
After being prayed for I knew something had changed in her.
I struggled with a lot of the same things growing up; it was so good to be able to share how God changed me, it helped in sharing.
I love how even in the busyness of the city God brings comfort
and peace.
