KIMBERLY'S OUTREACH

2,800 km, 65 people,12 days,7 buses and a whole lot of fun!
This is landon back in the office after an epic time out in the outback of Western Australia. The last 12 days I have been in the outback with two of our teams in the small aboriginal town of Looma. This small community of 400, is 200 klm east of Broome, which is 2,237 klm from Perth. Having traveled together with 5 other teams north, taking 3 days to reach Broome, it was an epic drive of sorts. Traveling in a big line, pointed north, we slept in churches, gymnasiums, and a caravan park before we reached our destination of Looma, where we set to camping by the Aussie Rules Football field and basketball courts. From there other teams stayed the night, then left for other communities anywhere from 1 hour to 8 hours away to do their own ministry. Staying with a young persons team and a school of music and missions, we did heaps of kids and sports ministry, showing movies (End of the Spear)(Despicable Me) and holding a concert, we really fell in love with the community.
In the short amount of time, we saw two young men make a re-commitment to follow God, and they shared a desire to walk away from old ways of stealing and fighting. These two were 15 and 18, and showed a genuine desire to make a change in their lives after talking with and watching us. One of them was so stirred by God to change that he came out to the tents in the middle of the night to talk with me, but did not know which tent i was staying in. He woke up one of the other tents trying to find me, but then was a little disheartened when it was not me that answered. It was actually a girls tent that The next night after the concert he came back to camp with us and we talked for a few hours. It was great to hear his heart, but as well heart breaking to hear how his life was going, with his family etc... I am so excited to go back another time and continue relationship with this coming July Sports DTS...
