WHAT'S NEXT?

The countdown is on, this could be your 'next'!

It has been about three weeks since the last sports DTS finished. I can't help but ask God what is next.... "what do you have in store for me". Further more what do you have in store for the July Sports DTS? Whatever it is, I know it's going to be BIG and it's going to be good!

It is TRUE that God is looking for those that are available and willing. Not necessarily the most skilled or best in their field.

There we were in Mozambique. An island just off the coast of a small city named Quelimane. A team of eleven aged between eighteen and twenty two. Packs on our back, riding in the back of a ute down a seemingly endless sandy track. We arrived at our new home. Tents go up followed by our first and definitely not last serving of rice and beans. Kids were coming out of every nook and cranny to see the foreigners. There we were... having traveled literally thousands of miles and for what? I had that sudden realization that whatever it was it was going to be BIG. At that point I wondered. God what's next? What do you have in store for this island?

We had the opportunity to use soccer to connect with the locals. Here was the strategy. Play soccer with the locals, build relationship through common ground.. sport. After the game pull everyone together and share with then the good news which many have never heard of. Testimonies, dramas and preaching of the gospel. That was focus. All whilst hoping and praying that the truth would sink in and take root. Our team saw about ten people come to have a relationship with Jesus and hundreds hear the gospel. One day those ones who responded to the gospel will be the ones to lead the rest of their own people group to the Lord as they are discipled by the small house churches planted by three long term missionaries called to the people of the island.

Was it worth it? Yes yes yes! God uses humble and available people...
