ABOUT

NEXT SCHOOL RUNS FROM January 4th to 22nd June, 2009 and every January

Come and be part of the Introduction to Primary Health Care School (IPHC). A six month training that gives you a heart for the poor and needy, using practical health care.

HEALTH CARE THAT IS NEEDED!!

As Primary Health Care workers you will be able to work in eight essential health care areas. You will learn about

God’s heart for the Poor; the ways that Jesus healed; How to minister to malnourished children; women and children’s health; setting up a health clinic; treating and diagnosing primary health care problems; setting up an antenatal clinic; how to teach and train in needy communities with simple health care messages; God’s character of compassion; helping those with food deficiencies; water - a vital source for health; curing those with worms; diarrhea; eye and ear problems; skin problems; Preventing major diseases in the world today such as HIV/AIDS; Tuberculosis; setting up a simple eye test clinic; rural and city communities; learning to DO health care and more importantly teach others!

How would you like to be involved in this? Here's what others say:

“I always wanted to go to the poor and do something but I didn’t know how?

Samantha Murray led four Primary Health Care Schools in 2000 ?01 ?02 and 04, she is now working full-time on specialised projects, many of these projects are motivated to help the poor ?children, HIV/AIDS, cities and others

Every day 6000 people between 15 & 24 years of age become infected with the HIV virus. That is 4 people every minute.

In as many as 35 of the poorest countries, 30 ?50% of the population may have no access to health services at all.

"I came to do my Primary Health care School in 1998, because I wanted to help the poor…I wanted to do something…not just words but actions…I wanted to demonstrate God’s love."

Nirina A is from Madagascar, and is now on staff with our Compassion DTS

Half of all children under 5 years of age in South Asia are malnourished. 60% of women there are underweight.

Malaria affects 300 million people in more than 100 countries each year.

“We’ve developed the Birth Attendant Schools after seeing the horrific needs of women and children around the world.?

Kathy Kennedy has led our health care work since 1993, she has led 21 health care schools pioneered our Birth Attendant School and facilitates our mercy works here in Perth

There are still 30 million infants not protected by routine vaccination in developing countries. 11 million children die from preventable causes each year.

Tuberculosis is the main cause of death from a single infectious agent among adults.

Acute respiratory Illness is a leading cause of mortality in young children killing nearly 2 million children under the age of 5 in developing countries each year.

Just think…in less than one year you can get out there,
Into communities,
Educating children
Doing ante natal care
Cleaning wounds
Working with safe water projects
Weighing children
And sharing the gospel with everyone you can?

You will be TRAINED in practical health care which you CAN use in rural or city areas.
