RUTH GOLDEN
FROM: USA, currently living in Melbourne
Ruth currently serves with YWAM Melbourne together with her husband Brian and their five children. She is coming to Perth to lead the first FIE with us this July.
She has her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of the Nations.
She worked for 10 years as a preschool director in Hawaii, getting involved at public schools as well as representing school directors state wide. Ruth has worked with teacher training in New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Tanzania, Korea and the USA. She is currently working on writing outcomes and core content for a teacher training curriculum. It is her desire to see every child equipped to reach their destiny in God. Her favourite quote is:
"Jesus loves the little children of the world…Imagine if they all knew it!"

HELGA LOBAUGH
FROM: Holmefjord, Norway
Helga did her DTS in Norway 1997. A year and a half later she married the amazing Rod Lobaugh and they started their exciting YWAM journey together, following God’s direction. They came to Perth in 2000 for SOFM, and then spent 7 years in China working with church planting and mercy ministries, before they returned to Perth. They have three beautiful children, Miriam (7), Nathaniel (5) and Karianne (3).
Helga did her FIE in Melbourne in 2007 -and will be staff on the school this year. She has been part of starting the pre-school that is now running on the base, and has a passion to see children know God both as their Father and Friend, and also as the One who has the answers for every area of life. She has a passion to see schools that reflect and communicate the character of God established in the nations, and through that see individuals and communities transformed.
Helga does not like coffee but loves going to coffee shops. She loves spending time with family and friends, and loves being outdoors – swimming, gardening, hiking and if there was snow in Perth she would be skiing too.

JAN DEAN
FROM: New Zealand
Jan has spent 25 of the last 30 years as an English teacher in New Zealand. She has a B.A. in Education and a Diploma of Secondary Teaching.
In 1991, she completed a CDTS in Kona, Hawaii and stayed on for the BFE (Biblical Foundations in Education) school. It was this school that gave her the skills to help pioneer the senior secondary English department at Bethlehem College, a Christian school in Tauranga, New Zealand. For 11 years, she was the Head of the English Department at Bethlehem College.
In 2008, she took what she thought would be one year off to do the IPHC school In Perth, but stayed on to staff it for a further two years. She has also been involved in teaching Simple Health Care seminars in a number of different countries, and loves to combine health care with teaching. She has tried to escape from teaching before, but God keeps leading her back into education, and staffing the FIE is part of this journey.
She is widowed with 2 adult children and 6 grandchildren, all of whom live in New Zealand. She loves experiencing new cultures, steak, chocolate, reading, rivers and oceans, hiking and silence.
