CHANGING NATIONS

By Helga

Students in schools today, leaders of nations tomorrow.

"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."

Have you heard this quote before? It is not from the Bible, nor from a Christian. Rather, from the famous communist leader Vladimir Lenin of Russia. Looking at history we see that he understood something important about how to shape a nation. Communists ruled Russia, a vast nation, for over 70 years. Lenin and his friends understood that if they were going to be successful in their rule they had to train the young generation in the same ways.

The students in our schools and universities today are the leaders of our nations tomorrow. The values that they are taught in the classroom today will impact the policies they make tomorrow.

What Lenin picked up is ironically a Biblical truth:

“Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it” (Proverbs 22:6 NLT)

Now, if the communist could make such an impact on the young people, how much more shouldn’t we be able to do, with God on our side? Let’s not believe that it is too hard to change this generation. Let’s believe that we can make a difference, because God is on our side. We CAN, but only if we try. Education is a huge mission field. Will you be one to make an impact for Jesus?

The FIE (Foundations in Education) is a unique opportunity to find out how you can be a part of bringing change to our nations through impacting the sphere of Education, student by student, classroom by classroom. Come join us here in Perth for the July Quarter!
