A CONTINUED IMPACT

Compassion DTS 2012 has come to an end, but there's more to come!

Coming from three different nations, the Compassion Discipleship Training School (Com DTS) 2012 returned to Perth last week. They were in different nations in Asia to complete their outreach, and had quite some stories to tell!

One of these stories was from the team which worked in one of the world’s largest slums/dump sites where people literally live and work in garbage. This team got to go in and share Jesus with people by hanging out, helping to sort the rubbish, pray for people, and share the gospel.

One day a few of the team got to share their testimonies with some tough-looking guys that were wondering why they had come. As they shared, the guys started tearing up. Even though these men didn’t come to know Jesus that day, they did have an encounter with Him and were drawn closer to God’s love for them.

Last week (Report Back Week) was all about sharing these stories and coming together in gratefulness of how God used each individual during outreach. The different teams all had different stories, but each reflected God’s desire to reach the lost, and showed the willingness of each person to let God use them.

It was also a week of reflecting back on six months of being together, growing closer to God, and seeing everyone’s life change. All we could do was to worship God for His goodness and faithfulness! Plus, share lots of funny stories, last hang outs, and yes – lots of tears as we said our goodbyes.

These guys are off to share all this when they get home. Not only has God impacted their lives, they now get to be an impact in others’ lives as they continue to live for God 100%. Whether they’ll go on to university, find a job, or continue on in missions, they now know what it means to live for God in any circumstance. I know they’ll do a great job in being an influence and will make an impact as they continue to pursue God wholeheartedly!
