What is there to say about all the uproar surrounding false prophecies, raptures and all of those self-professed Jesus’ in our midst? My first response: is anyone reading their Bible? Do Christians know what the Bible says, and even more do they understand what it means? I am both crushed in my spirit and broken-hearted to see so many Christians being lured in to false teachings, and then fall to another person’s created belief system.

We do have a standard, we do have The Word that tells us the Truth, and what it looks like. The Word tells us to be alert for false teaching that will only increase as the day of Christ draws near. How will we ever know what false teaching is if we do not know the truth first? (see John 8:31-32)

My heart cries out to the Church, to followers everywhere, that now, more than ever we NEED a stronger Biblical foundation to speak into who we are, and what we believe. Jesus teaches and shows us through the words he has given us. God has given us the greatest weapon, the sword of truth, but are we able to use it in battle to see the enemy fall to the left and the right? Or are we going to be lured into the falsehoods, and give our swords away to our enemies?

God’s calling us to, “go forth from your country and from your relatives, to a land that I will show you”(Gen12), that we “shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart and with all your soul and with all your might”(Deut 6:4), to “walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, His commandments, His ordinances and His testimonies, according to what is written in the Law of Moses, that you may succeed in all you do and wherever you turn, so that the Lord may carry out his promise which he spoke”. Jesus prays to the Father to “sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth, as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world”(Jn 17:17-18) and promises that “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth”(Acts 1:8) to share and be the gospel. But Jesus also said “be aware” of false teachings (Matt 7:15,24:4-5,10-11, Mark 13:21-23 to to name a few)

Why do you believe what you believe? Do you know? Do you know what the Bible says about love, grace, justice, and wrath? Have you come to know and understand, who God is as a person, not only through personal revelation, but also in a deep intimate relationship with His Living Word?
