What is the role of Backbone?



The backbone’s function is to hold the rest of the body in place. The legs at the bottom, arms out to the side, head on top. A backbone is something that you don`t necessarily take any notice of, yet it’s role is important for the body to function. Backbone Ministries exist to serve the YWAM Perth family in specialized functions, meaning that we facilitate a healthy body that grows and multiplies through using our specialized skills. Support staff is a lot like being the backbone to the body. We are ones that while our role is not necessarily seen by others, it is vital for us to function as a mission

We do what we’re called to do so that school and ministry leaders can do what they are called to do!



What is it like working with Backbone?



It is a privilege to serve. Many people think of a missionary as someone who lives in a mud hut in Vietnam, but computer techies can be missionaries too! Some people are great at leading schools or delivering babies, but they have no idea how to fix a toilet or work a computer. That is where Backbone comes in. We fulfill the Great Commission by facilitating others to go out into the nations of the earth.
