Narelle comes from the Australian state of Queensland, not noted for its artists but things are obviously changing! She’s illustrated for small magazines and papers, and also made character dolls and teaching aids for cancer charities back home. For a long time Narelle didn’t think God wanted to use her art, but she saw how art could play a role in ministry when she was in England. After setting up and running a pregnancy crisis centre for teens, she saw how young girls would open up and talk about their lives during craft classes. Over the past couple of years she has begun to feel passionately that God is calling the arts back to Himself, and calling visual artists to stop painting on the sidelines of the battle, and realise that their brushes, pencils, etc, are actually their swords in the spiritual battle that God calls us all to have a part in. She sees Art Refuge as a part of God's heart to bring healing to not only those in our local community, but beyond.

TRUDY

FROM: Amsterdam

Trudy is a beautiful mix of the creative and caring heart of God.

She has both produced art and taught it over the years, and also workedin counselling those who are in need of God's love and healing. Trudy has taught on aspects of God and who He is to those seeking to know Him better. She brings experience and wisdom with her.

God is doing a new thing with Trudy's creativity and it is so very good to have her as part of the Art Refuge team.
