THE GIFT

Sometimes art is a gift to speak of God's love.
One evening, when I went on a Saturday to do art at Perth Church of Christ, I met a girl who wasn't sure where her hope laid. Someone tried to tell her where it was, and how much God loved her, but the slashes and scars on her wrists told that she still needed a deeper revelation.
As she headed to go to the hospital for her wrists, I felt to give her a picture I had done of a flower bud. I felt God wanted her know that this was how He saw her: precious, beautiful, but not yet fully open. Her face lit up, and she was touched. As I prayed for her, I knew that God would do the rest – step by step, as she is able to hear of His love for her.
This past time at the church, I watched as a visiting volunteer drew a beautiful eagle, then give it to a young girl who had sat watching her. Again, I knew God was at work to show His precious ones just how much He loves and values them. He wants to give them beautiful things, because He cares so much for them.
Sometimes words just don't yet penetrate, but God always has a way to reach those who are need of His love.
