TAKING TIME

By Narelle

Spending time with the homeless

Most Saturday evenings you will find a representative or two of Art Refuge spending time with the homeless and hurting, as they share a meal at Perth Church of Christ. It began a couple of years ago, and continues to be a time to share God's presence, character and truths with those we meet there.

Each week we take time to listen(as many don't get listened to much) chat with, pray with, do art with, draw portraits, or anything else God leads us to do. I have seen tears in the eyes of an older man as I prayed for God to meet him where he is, had a chance to chat with a homeless woman as she drew her crazy mixed up mind that was trying to handle many problems at once, and enjoyed the delight of seeing children grow in the realisation of God's amazing love.
These people value time taken to come back again and again to see them. They value the time taken to create a special picture for their wall when they finally have a place to live, and they value the love that we share of God and His desire to touch and help them.
Thank you God for allowing Art Refuge to be a part of what you are doing.
