A PLACE OF REFUGE

By Shelly Krill

Doing art at a Salvation Army home.

This past week we had an opportunity to do some art therapy with the ladies at a salvation army refuge.

The ladies we got to spend time with were refugees from Somalia and Vietnam. Watching them draw and relax from what can be stressful times, was refreshing and opened the door for conversation. Having so many cultures and nationalities in one room brings joy to my heart...it just feels like it's supposed to be that way.

As a creative person I am curious to see what else God wants to use to minister to and love others... I know it'll be a colorful adventure.
