Practical tools in leading others to the Lord in Mexico
Our team went into the Zocalo to evangelize one morning, and we also were drawing on the ground with chalk, when a man walked up and stood nearby with a questioning look on his face as he stared at my drawing. I was drawing a picture of a house with the words “mi sacrificio por Dios” which means “my sacrifice for God”. He asked about it, and we started a long conversation about God and faith, and I answered his questions, but even after we prayed for him, he seemed still so unsettled in his perception of God. He blamed God for the bad things that happened to him. I told him about the character of God and how God is loving and feels sadness when we suffer, but is always with us. He looked a little more at peace when he left. A week later, during evangelism again at the Zocalo, we saw him again. I talked to him and asked him how his week was, and he said it was much better and that the prayer had given him peace and he understood that at the end of the day, whether good or bad, that God was still a good God. He decided to re-dedicate his life to the Lord and we prayed. This man comes now to almost every evangelism day we have. God really taught me through this of the importance and the significance of prayer ministry. God works! -Lynnea Bettger
